They had one stretch of 17 shows in a row: "I thought I had done a good job preventing those pesky, non-earning down nights. Had to get on to the next gig or we wouldn't have gas money."
"For that day & time, the guarantees were really good. Most of the best $ made were in the towns where there are very few rock clubs. A place like Austin (then & now) on a given night will have at least 3 good shows on most nights."
