I once got hired at Christmas to work for a stationery store that was going out of business. We packed up everything that could be sold and shipped it off to other stores. For the last week of my work, my job was to destroy unsold merchandise that didn't sell, even at 80% off. I spent days smashing porcelain figurines with a hammer. On the last day, I had to break all of our glass shelves. The rubbish bin looked just like this one. My manager told me that she didn't want to see a single unbroken pane. It was fun shattering them for the first hour or so. By the end, I was just slinging them against the side of the can.
