With all sincerity and respect: fuck titles. Trying to come up with the perfectly apt title that snaps the work into focus in the eyes of every passer-by will drive you to distraction, and if you fall short, it can make the painting seem cheezy instead.
If the right thing pops to your head, use it. Otherwise, keep rolling what you got, it does the job and will make people happy.
@chadlavi @LocalStain The whole show is here and I made up prices for stuff tonight at the show. Email me at spingo at the gmail if there's one you're curious about!
My GF dibbed this one before it was even out of the house, but I'll have prints up in a day or two.
My favorite so far. I'll also second @ardgedee 's title stance. All sortsa "noir"-based things are popping into my head, but they seem MLKSHK-level appropriate, kinda hokey for real art.
@LordJohnWhorfin @ardgedee I was fried by the show and had no idea what to charge so I asked my GF to go around and make up prices. Along with a few of those (I went back and did it myself at the end of the night), oh her list she named this one "Peace" just to annoy me. It worked! She laughed and laughed. She is a good lady.
@LordJohnWhorfin Good! A nice little crowd, esp. considering it was at my pal's salon and not a gallery. Pedro the foster dog did well with the crowd, and the blonde model for the 4-armed one cried a little and came and gave me a big hug when she saw herself lifesize on the wall, which was probably the best part of the night. Best possible reaction!
It is really quite striking.
