@ba I didn't know what quiche was, nobody around me knew what quiche was, so the title of the book... I got it, but in a kind of "okay yeah, real men don't have seven arms and blue is not a number either" sort of way. And finally in the late '80s, when I had moved to a big city and working my first post-college nine to five job and making enough money to not subsist on 15¢ boxes of mac'n'cheese any more, I finally had an opportunity to try quiche and took that opportunity and concluded that, yeah, well, maybe this whole quiche thing is overblown because I don't really feel it upending the masculine paradigm here. Such is the socially normative power of government cafeteria cooking and reconstituted industrial grade egg mix.
I finally had a decent quiche, many years later.
