@blood23 Thank you for saving me a click. The oddly-translated French mixes with the art-school doublespeak to make a beautiful cocktail of high bullshit that no patch-corder could ever have dreamed up on his/her own. Now I'm *very* curious to hear what it sounds like.
@blood23 @MackReed This sent me down one hell of a rabbit hole... but I was able to come up with a very poor recording of a live performance of the 6th version of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch... at 0:38 is when it is shown. This is the Cybernephone 6, which is what it was renamed to at some point. Also, Quasars by Christian Clozier was something I thought was done on this, and the sounds from the live recording make it seem pretty evident that it was the case. https://www.youtube.com/watch... Much better sound here.
No first hand knowledge here, just extensive google-fu. http://marco-marinoni.webs.com/towalkth... Is where I found that the Cybernephone 6 would be performed at Festival Synthése 2003. I'd found 5 other experiemental music events it was played at, but none with video... so, that was what I was able to dig up. :) The GMBEaphone to Cybernephone name change is reference best here shen discussing the first track on disc 2: http://twicezonked.blogspot.com/2011... but the name change reference is found in many places.
Oh and in that video of the Festival Synthése 2003, Christian Clozier is that first guy playing... he seems to have done the most with the instrument as far as produced recordings, but ... it's apparently a device focused on live performance, hence there not being alot of recordings out there.
@blood23 @ardgedee no prob, I dig electronic music despite knowing nothing about it :) so, it was interesting to read into. One of the units (in its many revisions) had like 60 speakers in it, so, yea blood23 it seems very much designed for the live experience. Cools sounds tho.

Some crazy sounds from this thing for sure.
