MUNI Bar
Why I love being a programmer part one million: My office sits over a MUNI train stop. When it is about that time to leave I check Routesy or the NextMuni site only to find out a train is just about to arrive and I have to run downstairs, or it isn’t arriving for another 15 minutes so I have to wait.
So I wrote this app in about 15 minutes. It polls MUNI’s API every minute for the departure times of this stop and puts them in a little list on my menu bar. At a glance I can know if it’d be a good idea to shut my computer down and leave.
Having an idea and then being able to quickly make it is such a great feeling.
