Having done similar: Krazy glue applied in thin coats with careful buffing has amazing powers to save nails. Severe cases can be saves with applique nails glued on with super glue. Cyanoacrylate is a remarkable substance, it is biocompatible and largely non-toxic, yet waterproof, hard, durable, and largely insoluble when dry. Excellent for healing nails and nail matrix, even if cut.

Good tip, i forget about super glue for the nails. This happened a week ago (too bloody to get a pic right away), and the skin is sealed down nicely but i need to get the nail fixed so it'll grow out intact. I keep the machete sharp, good thing it was a half-assed swing or i'd have lost that whole chunk instead.
