And I tend to be *very* easily amused by big-budget sci-fi. Godawful mess though it was, I thought Prometheus was superior to Into Darkness. </rant>

@MackReed Clearly we look for different things in movies because I thought Prometheus was god awful.

I thought Into Darkness was fun. It had themes from old Star Trek, with enough new stuff to be a fun new movie that kept me guessing. I hadn't looked at any spoilers though so I had no idea what to expect.

The second Abrams, OTOH, seemed like cobbling together a dozen dramatic scenes and tropes from earlier films on the framework of an average NextGen episo... aw, why bother. Looking forward to Man of Steel. Let's hope we get the Zack Snyder of Watchmen, and not the Zack Snyder of Sucker Punch.
