I'm not one of those people who gives the bell-ringers a hard time, though we have one supermarket in town and they're a gauntlet in front of it. That said, I think it's worth remembering that there are better and worse ways to help people over holidaytime and the Salvation Army, while helpful to some, is not helpful to all.
