@Merel Barends this is a bit similar to Hieronymus Bosch works, a dutch painter and contemporary to this paiting. actually one of the few Bosh's paintings, as well as this, are kept in the same museum, here in Lisbon.

@Allanpoe That's so cool! As a Dutch girl/infernal art obsessive, I'm of course familiar with Bosch' work. Weirdly enough, I can't recall if I ever saw one of his paintings for real.
A collegue of mine is working on a graphic novel about his life at the moment (to appear in 2016, the official Hieronymus Bosch-year)!

@merelbarends u dutch? firstly, sorry for yesterday's match in Euro'12..
about Bosch, his painting kept in Lisbon is the triptych called "The Temptation of Saint Anthony" (c.1500) which is just a wonderfull sight for the eyes.. it's actually one of my oldest art memories I can remember when my mum brought me to the museum when I was like 5y..
let me know more about that graphic novel..

@Allanpoe Mmm, yeah, that was pretty nasty, last night. But your legion deservedly won (ours played like, as we say here, wet newspapers).
You must have a pretty great mum! I was lucky enough to be taken to visit lots of museums when I was a kid (we have shitloads of Van Goghs overhere). I'll post something as soon as my collegue gets some images from his book out there!

@merelbarends .. well, you have shitloads of Van Goghs (quite unfair not to mention all the others) while we have only a small qty of good art stuff.. so you win!

@Allanpoe It's "natte krant" (wet newspaper). It basically means someone is very, very weak & sloppy & falls apart very easily. Like a wet newspaper! :-)

And yeah, we have way more artists than Van Gogh (Rembrandt!) but the museum close to where I lived as a kid, mostly had Van Goghs. I'm very spoilt, I know. :-)

@merelbarends .. can I say "I hate you" for living close to Van Gogh's museum (the one in AMs, right?) ..remember visiting it years ago..
