Imagine trending hashtags stuffed into your favorite apps in inappropriate ways: (top to bottom)

I'd argue what the Twitter iPhone app is doing is nearly as inappropriate.
For anyone at Twitter reading this: please add a user settings preference for turning it off (you can leave it on by default as long as I can get rid of it).

Put an option to hide it and all is well. I've reverted down to 3.2.2 which is something I never do. I tried really hard to be okay with it but it takes up too much room with something I don't want to see.
@andre My biggest problem is how it randomly pops up while you're reading things a few screens down. I'd be ok if it was just at the top of the viewport -- I'd just remind myself not to scroll all the way up, but inserting and covering content randomly is super duper annoying and user hostile.
@mathowie I really care very little about trends. I bet this will be more interesting at SXSW where people might want to know what's going on around Austin, but for me, I don't care that people are talking about #tigerblood. I'll never care that people are talking about #tigerblood.
And worse is I manage the MLKSHK Twitter account. So for my business I am being pushed #Charlie Sheen trends or (sadly) #twitter as a trend.
