My guess: some people use these auto-follow bots on certain keywords. Maybe he followed on your first mention of "Starship Troopers". If you don't follow back within a week or so, they unfollow. You can usually tell they use this because they are following 10,000+ people. If they follow someone else using these bots, then it's like )) <<>> (( forever.
