I know most people don't care. And I know I can use some sort of top level thing like Sparrow or Thunderbird or just host my own email. But my inbox is basically my todo list and I like having gmail look how I want. And it's the internet, so I can have this. This is what the new gmail looks like after...
1. Stylish and a script called The Return of old Gmail edited to remove all the blues
2. AdBlock with a few custom rules to remove the user icons (sorry friends, I love you but I don't want you grinning at me while I read your email)
3. Greasemonkey and a script called "Hide plus elements from gmail" which gets rid of that red number box
4. changed buttons from images to text
I like this pretty well. Now I just need to export it to all my other machines

other than the red number box, i've achieved the same look with just the settings within google.
Really? I may have not shown this with a message open, but I couldn't get rid of the user icons or use a custom color theme or not have the shiny GMAIL thing in the upper left but maybe I was just too hasty.
yeah, the icons can be turned off in the settings. my logo is the dorky gmail logo but i can turn it off or if i can replace it with my own logo if i have the business suite thing (which I don't). adblocker could easily just get rid of it.
