Obsessively logging every bit of food and drink that goes into my body for the past three months has revealed some interesting truths. One is that red wine is the food I ingest the most; it's the largest single source of calories for me. Before I started paying attention to my health I would drink wine maybe once or twice a week and drink beer two or three times a week. Now I drink at least one glass of red wine daily (1.75 glasses is my daily average) and no beer. Result: I'm dropping about a pound a week. Win!
Also worth mentioning that I wasn't sold on the idea of dieting until I learned that it was possible to lose weight by eating bacon and eggs for breakfast. I'm actually eating better breakfasts than I was before. My old standby was peanut butter on toast -- used to eat that 4-5 times a week. Yes, I am pretty boring.
