Hmm… judging by the toes & ankles, I was guessing some sort of software, After Effects maybe? My experience does not extend to video editing… what makes me unsure is the reflection. If it IS video editing, it's very well done, minus the missing toe on the left foot.

projection mapping? The diffusion through the skirt is another argument against post.

@jonbro Apparently, pretty close. It was a combination of projection mapping with stop-motion, as this particular sequence was part of a video by a French director that was composed from about 350,000 shots:
