Is it weird that I liked the dial-up sound?
I miss it.....just like I miss the windows 95 defrag.....it was like watching waves or traffic....going line by line
@falconwing I used to alway keep a novel or a sketchbook by the computer so that I had something to do while the pages were loading. Still, there's a certain sense of nostalgia, primarily I think, because I was in college, so it's more of a general nostalgia.
@fouronenone Yeah, I remember that. Once you got cable/dsl the speed was so amazing...and addictive. Could never go back to dial up. (spoiled)Though, isnt it nice not to have those AOL discs coming at your house 4 or 5 times a week?

@jyuska I know what you mean. I've been listening since the early 90s; I have two presets in my car, NPR and FNX. I remember my friends getting arrested in the melee at the Green Day show, I remember when Julie Kramer went on maternity leave… I found out about 9.11 on my way to work while listening to the morning show, and we were listening when Julie Kramer announced that MCA had died. :(
@jyuska I know there are still some college stations in Boston, but we're out in southern NH, so we listen to 92.1, the Peterborough frequency. There isn't anything comparable out here. I guess I'll just have to keep my iPod charged from now on, but I'll miss hearing new songs then looking them up on the FNX site so I can buy them.
