I didn't color correct the picture… the hippo is actually plum purple and bright pink. When I originally bought socks online to make the little guy, the screen colors appeared to more closely match the animated version, but what can you do? I plan to make the cow plushie next.

I was sick in bed on Christmas Eve after a severe allergic reaction, and it was only the 2nd time in my life that I couldn't celebrate with the Finnish side of my family. I was bored and a bit depressed, so I made Doctor Who cookie cutters. @Atomic_Dork made the cookies, as I was still bedridden. We decorated them, but the finished result wasn't up to my standards. ;) Next time, we plan to stencil on colored sugar before they go into the oven. Oh, and we definitely DID put edible ball bearings on the DALEKS!

@Atomic_Dork's sister asked me to make a DALEK cake for her birthday. The cake is Hershey's Special Dark chocolate cake, and the frosting is stabilized whipped cream, made with agar agar instead of gelatin, as his sisters and mom are vegetarians. His middle sister is vegan, so I made vegan cupcakes as well, which is why the eyestalk is a different color from the rest of the head.

Now to finish it off with a nice Irish whiskey.

and came back with shamrock shakes.
