Yeah, that's me and Yoko. That picture is actually a couple of years old and we don't use the rolling thing anymore; it's really not very necessary. We try to do a cone shape, but we aren't very good at it. It still tastes great, though.

The best part of doing it yourself is selecting what you want to put into each one right before you eat it. And handrolls are a lot more fun to eat than precut slices; it's fun to bite through the whole roll and tear of a piece.

I tried making handrolls once. Mine were kind of oversized though. I think this kind of idea would be more fun than what I made though. We'll have to do it once we have more room. We had avocado, cucumber, and smoked salmon. They didn't look pretty but they were delicious. Just another reason I can't wait to get to Seattle. There is a dearth of fresh varied seafood here.
