@cristin forgive me for being blunt, but I literally don't think you know what spam is. There's no mechanism on earth by which an image that contains no active HTML links can provide search engine advantage.

And your easy fix is absurd - if they've made something that people like and want to link to, they have the right to promote their URL. Deliberately removing the attributing footer isn't an appropriate response.

@cristin none of which really matters when it's being posted - without the original link - to Mlkshk. Stripping the attribution in the image's footer section is not actually any less scummy behaviour than what you're describing.

@cristin I guess fundamentally I don't give a fuck. I'm reposting it with the original attribution intact because it's an interesting diagram. My doing so is not fundamentally contributing to the SEO spam issue that you describe, because your understanding of how Google works is flatly idiotic.
