in some cases, that's a good thing. lots of fantasy tends to ramble.
and in the case of The Hobbit, the director and writers add a whole bunch of shit that was never in the book.
I once wrote a 4,000 word argument on how the movie version of 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World' is far better than the graphic novel it is based on. It was really insane; I never shared it.
