I gotta say, I support species profiling in this instance. You don't see housecats out there mauling mule deer. We have to fight them in Griffith Park so we don't have to fight them on Venice Beach.
One of the most useful things about this study has been that there have been no reported attacks on either humans or (I think?) housepets. The mountain lion is eating what he is supposed to.
That's great news, because Griffith Park is big, well used by people, and has great sight lines. If these cats were going to attack people, I think this would be a pretty good place for it.
