I swear - people who actually Know Shit should not be allowed to write textbooks.
Each textbook author should be paired up with a lay-person technical writer who knows nothing of the topic being discussed. Then the author teaches the writer how to do stuff, and together they write the textbook based on the learning process.
Actual example from a tutorial I will not identify: Lesson 1: "This is a data object, and this is how you initialize an object, and why you should. See how easy that is?" Lesson 2: "This is you write 'Hello World' using our language." Lesson 3: "A raytracer that can be adapted for onscreen game animation."
Actual command/method/function reference? There is none. Refer to the language design spec.
