That's amazing. I wonder why the water doesn't seem to expand and fracture the bottle, since ice should occupy more space than water, no?
@jonson It's hard to say how they prepared the bottle to start with. Ice does take up more room than water, but it could very well be that the person that filmed the process may have left the lid loose while cooling the bottle down, then merely squeezed the bottle enough for the gap to account for that expansion from the phase change. Most instructions for doing this at home or school note that you should have a gap to account for expansion. I've been trying to track this video down, with no luck.
