I saw them play a billion times.

@instantenemy I got to see them slightly less than that, but they came through nebraska a bit and they were always good. Great people too!

@bernie They seemed to be in MO a lot. I'm glad I was in the midwest in the '80's/early '90's. I forgot how Rose would go nuts when she played.

@instantenemy Where in MO where you then. I had friends in KC/Columbia at the time.

@bernie I was in southern MO in the 80's and in Columbia 91-95.

@instantenemy cool. I knew folks who DJ'd at KCOU, guys in Prozac Memory, Faye Records. My band played some shows there (atomic cafe? Maybe?) Cicero's in St. Louis and played tons in KC. Here's to the Midwest!

@bernie Ha! I was really good friend with the Prozac guys. I guess I hung out with Jared and Sam the most. Was at KCOU a lot and would sit in with Troy who did the punk show "Sick and Tired". I think he was in a band as well. Saw a ton of shows at Cicero's (I miss The Dazzling Killmen). I'm sure we know a lot of the same people. TO THE MIDWEST!

PS - I just saw you're friends with Lane on FB. Small world.

I also worked with a guy here in NC from Lincoln named Bill Graham who was in a lot of early Lincoln punk bands.

@instantenemy awesome! I was in a band called sideshow back then.. ran a record label called Caulfield for a few years. I've known Lane since first grade. Ahhh... and Bill G - bought my first bass from him! Small small world, indeed!

@bernie Holy crap! I didn't recognize you without all the hair. I saw you guys play a ton too. Wow. I still have Eggplants and Sunspots sitting on the shelf (and ripped in iTunes). Small world indeed.

Great album, great band, great people. Rose's 90s road diary deserves more web credit as well.

The Poster Children were our best band houseguests when I lived in Iowa City. I was absolutely hopeless over Rose and she was always very sweet about it. They would take us out for lunch at the Hamburg Inn the next day. Also, they absolutely rocked the goddamned house down. I remain shocked that they never quite managed to hit it big.
