reposting my comment here: Never answered my letter telling him how much I loved Soup and Me. Think I read an interview years later saying how he didn't answer letters because he felt kids were forced to write them by teachers or librarians, the latter of which I became. Still doesn't mean I didn't earnestly feel what I wrote. Keep meaning to write him again and share that with him. 82 now. Time running out.
