While I strongly agree with the sentiment here (although I'd never qualify my own work as "good," of course), I think it's important to recognize something else, as well. As an amateur musician, I know I'm never gonna be Hendrix or Knopfler or Gilmour. So I stopped trying. Instead, I think it's important to recognize your own limitations and carve out your niche within the boundaries of your talent. Not that you should stop trying to improve, of course.
