sort of annoyed that this has gone from meaning 'false sense of exceptionalism' which is a nice metaphor to 'overly sensitive' which makes no sense at all.
I guess the reference is supposed to be that the libtards give everyone a trophy just for showing up? And started the "self-esteem" movement? And advocate "political corectness" like not calling for an armed massacre of protestors?
@robotsalad @slog @thelonius I certainly see your points, but part of the reason why "snowflake" was a popular epithet among the right was because it is also perceived as being emasculating-- it is an image of fragility and delicate sensibility as well as an indictment of individual exceptionalism. Keeping in mind that these are often the same people who use "cuck" as the most egregious insult in their quiver.
More than anything I think people are using snowflake as shorthand for the conservative perception of liberals as effeminate and sensitive, and the word is a quick and dirty way to call them out on the apparent hypocrisy of claiming that "people are only offended because they have been sheltered and coddled" when the right is just as thin-skinned as anyone else.
