@jlinsmith I think that's fair. The real question was about the twenty year punishment under a feticide law based on limited evidence, and the precedent set by it. An appeals court found her guilty of a significantly reduced charge. You may draw your own conclusions and judgment: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...
@stereoplex. To me, the question is relaying a story with such a grossly misleading comment, which leads to people repeating just that comment without reading the article, which I'm quite certain is the goal.
@buttermilk The "fetus" in question was a one pound baby, who could have survived.
Abortions based on race, gender, or disability? So we need to make efforts to protect people based on race, gender or disability, but just not unborn babies? That's okay? Sorry, but that is what's gross here.
Either make abortion safe and legal or accept the consequences of making it illegal and dangerous, but don't throw someone in jail for having this disaster happen to them.
Okay @buttermilk and @deletism I would refer you back to my original comment which was actually meant as a commentary on how too many people get their news from Twitter, Facebook, etc and repeat without having done any research at all. In fact, that was exactly my point.
Unfortunately, I did respond to your comment on abortion @buttermilk, because I do have an opinion and that opinion is not pro-choice, nor is it pro-life. I understand the need for abortions, but I also have a hard time with fetus vs. baby. Based on previous experience with the MLKSHK community, I should know better than to comment because my opinion is generally 180 degrees away from the majority of people here. At least the majority of people commenting. But I can't help myself. I love a good back-and-forth.
I understand that the issue of abortion is very complication. Maybe you felt that my comment was over-simplified. Maybe I felt that your story about your sister was off the point. Either way, you're allowed your opinion and I'm allowed mine.
I would refer you to your final sentence and ask that you heed it as well.
@buttermilk You really didn't clearly illustrate seeing all sides. You clearly illustrated that you don't like what you think my side is. I never asked you to reevaluate your stance. I said you're allowed your opinion as I'm allowed mine.

Meanwhile, PENCE. PENCE is what's gross here.
