My boys LOVE to mix potions. Little John #1's current concoction is called Ac-metal (short for acid-metal, pronounced ass-metal). I would buy these in a heartbeat; a package would make their Christmas. Name your price.
@LordJohnWhorfin We've done simpler sets before. The kids like it either way. Get some jars, glue on some labels and fill them with non perishable spices, candies, colored water, snow cone syrup, nuts, seeds, teas, bacon bits and anything else that they can eat safely. Then make sure to have a big jar of baking soda and another jar of vinegar so they can make everything bubble over the sides.
@heyitsal We've got the containers/ingredients down pretty well (though some of your corked bottles are to die for). It's the sheen of Diagon Alley professionalism that your dee-luxe labels, especially on the box, convey. Seriously, I would buy those from you, or at least take your image files/font choices.
And thanks for the list – hadn't thought of loose teas or seeds, we've tended more towards the liquids.
@LordJohnWhorfin - Michael's sells the bottles. Some of the labels are straight off the web. Just look up potion labels on Pintrest and print. If you want a folder full of them that I downloaded, hit me at aldesignsdotcom.
@heyitsal Thanks for the tips! There's a Michael's about two miles from here, so that's super-easy. I'll poke around Pinterest, but I'll happily take a folder-ful straight from you, too. I'll drop a line this weekend.
@LordJohnWhorfin For some reason, I feel compelled to tell you to remember that Michael's is all about the coupons. They'll apply them at the register if you just ask what they are any given day. Also, today (Saturday) is a craft project day there for your kids.
@heyitsal Got the coupons in the mail caddy by the front door! Skipped craft day today to watch My Neighbor Totoro with the boys and get naps in because tomorrow is our Underwood Farms pumpkin patch/corn maze/hay ride epic. But soon.
@heyitsal Your public library probably has a button maker you can use to make them (I like the idea of button buttons). Otherwise Joanne's Fabric probably.
@jessamyn I will ask my libraries branch manager, who coincidentally will be dropping by to pick up his kid from a play date later today, about the button maker. Joanne's fabric does not have crafting activities for kids and smells like farts.
@spingo But then I wouldn't have time for these... https://mltshp.com/p/1A3X2, https://mltshp.com/p/1A3WX, https://mltshp.com/p/1A3X1
