Could have just shorterned that to Capitalism.
"hello world"
@deletism Agreed in general, but tbf, "armed conflict" and "polarization of idealogical orientations" predate, or at least are independent of, Capitalism. The rest are right smack in big C's bailiwick.
How do you expect to make progress against those things without phone apps?
@LordJohnWhorfin Capitalism benefits immensely from armed conflict and polarization of ideological orientations.
@caitlinburke Oh, god, most definitely. Perpetual war is practically its feeding trough, and nothing perpetuates like zealots. I just meant it in the sense that while the first two are by-products of barely-restrained Capitalism, those latter two prized possessions have been with us since before Ur, and even if the entire world suddenly turned to feudalism tomorrow, we'd still be stuck with them, I think. Possibly with decreased intensity, but still here.
