I am envious of your babby (now babbies). I guess it's time to get in the game. But just as important: we apparently share the same fine taste in countertops – I'd recognize Caesarstone Atlantic Salt anywhere. Very happy with ours for going on 4 years.
@Lord_John_Whorfin Your comment's been bugging me... I have to confess I hate that fucking countertop. My eyesight is not good and I routinely lose small things on top of it, or fail to notice things that are there and set other things on top of them with various kinds of funny-not-funny consequences. Fortunately my spouse and I were in full agreement, even before we closed on the house, that the countertop and preferably the whole kitchen will be the first thing to get ripped out and replaced.
I don't hate granite countertops on principle, I've seen kitchens where they really make the space beautiful. I sincerely hope that if you like yours it continues to work well and make you happy for a long time.
(Anyway, I've had to take a break from dutch babies because we were tiring of them at chez ardge. This morning I had steel-cut oatmeal with an egg on top and chimichurri sauce. Dutch babymaking will resume soon.)
