For the record, I am a huge Coen Bros. fan, and I felt season one was trying too hard to worship at their altar. I think that season two, however, really came into its own, and was deeply original and surprisingly fresh.

@dapete Easter eggs, sure. I can certainly see that, especially when I am looking for them. But getting caught up in them is missing the forest for the trees. This latest tale was something special, and works far beyond its reference material. Then again, my significant female other also thinks Season 1 was better.
