For more on Ben Carson's congenital moronsim, please see his comments re: the cowardice of the Umpua Community College victims, including Chris Mintz, apparently.
@LordJohnWhorfin Kind of parallel to @jakebackpack's concise takedown here: I don't like the conventional wisdom of the Republican candidates (especially Carson) being genuinely stupid. They have the smarts, or at least the cunning and self-control necessary to know that they have to bury their own opinions, however complex and deeply-held they may be, in order to achieve a particular goal -- in this case the goal of glory, wealth, or power. And this is regardless of whether they intend to be a Nixonian control-freak of a president, or a Reaganesque/GWBushesque ceremonial representative who's delegated the authority and work to his underlings.
The sin isn't idiocy, it's egoism. Which is worse. The dream of the moderate and the left is that these people would be better if only they were informed or were intelligent -- the reality is that they /are/ informed and they /are/ intelligent, and they're hell-bent on doing exactly what they're doing.
