simple!
This whole segment was genius (and kinda depressing).
Laverne Cox/Kristen Schaal/Nick Offerman/Megan Mullaley sex ed please
It made me super angry and sad. I had sex ed in North Carolina, and it was infuriating. Thinking about it still makes me SO angry, and it was almost 15 years ago. I definitely tried to make a stand against it (I told my classmates about contraceptives during breaks and wrote "SAFE SEX" in sharpie in every abstinence section of the health textbook), but it's still being taught that way. I'm very lucky to live and teach up north, where I can answer students' questions about sex in an honest and non-judgemental way and not fear for my job. Actually, it's one of the biggest reasons I'll never move back to NC.
