Not to get all "Get offa my lawn!", but IMO, modern automobile print ads have had their creativity and differentiation reduced to almost nil. I honestly can't think of a single current print campaign that is memorable (I say this with nearly every copy of Car & Driver since 12/81on my shelf), whereas for other industries, print still produces good, even remarkable works.
@mediumcool Are you an ad man, perchance? I don't see too many references like DDB or JWT 'round these parts.
@mediumcool That's quite a c.v. I might have gone down a similar route – I did a fair amount of design work in Freehand/Quark/Pagemaker in college and a couple years after – but for not wanting to follow my dad's ad career. (Dad was the N.Y. VP at Leo Burnett in, essentially, the Mad Men era, though since he was sweet, bald and a bit of a nebbish, no Don Draper he.)
@LordJohnWhorfin @mediumcool
Nice, nice, both of you.
I use Photoshop on my work computer - the license for which my employer purchased to further my abilities to do my job - to edit images that I post to MLKSHK.
